The high density foam cushioning is fire retardant and offers long-lasting comfort and durability. It features a soft textured micro suede polyester cover that is stain resistant. I bought this online for my 16 month old daughter because she kept wanting to climb on the big couch. We thought if she had her own couch she'd be happy and safer there. I've seen these in stores before but they always looked really cheap and flimsy. I thought since this one was more expensive that the quality would be better. I was right! When I got it out I noticed that not only is it larger than the ones I'd seen in stores, but that the foam inside was thicker and stronger as well. Also, the ones in stores have really flimsy arm rests where half the couch seems to collapse under a toddlers weight. This one is VERY different. The arm rests are nice and strong. Even with me sitting on it and leaning against the side it didn't collapse. There are zippers where you can remove the foam for washing which is a BIG plus. (I wouldn't recommend drying it though.) My little one absolutely loves this couch. We pulled it out into a bed and put her blankey on it and she's been lounging around on it all day. There's so much room for her to bring all of her toys onto it with her. It's actually large enough for me to sit in there with her with room to spare. The microsuede is very soft and seems like it will hold up to toddler usage. When in the couch position, keep in mind that it's a bit taller than expected. She has to climb to get onto it. This also makes it not as safe as I thought it would be. Just use common sense and stay sitting near your child until they get used to getting on and off of it. All and all I'm thrilled and I think it's worth the money.
